CARROM game is a cue based tabletop sport that is imperative to physics and geometry.
Gaining popularity during World War 1, Carrom is known to have its origins in the Indian subcontinent. Since then, Carrom has come a long way from being just a game to a sport. 
Touted to be an Olympic sport pretty soon, it has been played at a competitive level since 1935 with many countries having their own federations and clubs, sponsoring tournaments and awarding prizes.
Some of the countries where Carrom is not just a friendly game but a serious contest of great skills.

In 1958, India and Sri Lanka had formed their own official clubs and federations, although solemn Carrom Tournaments had initially taken place in 1935 in Sri Lanka and had been going strong henceforth.  

The International Carrom Federation(ICF), however came into being in the year 1988 in Chennai, India. The formal and official rules for the Indian version of the game were published in 1988  and The ICF officially codified the rules in that very year.
